Richard Chai is a young designer on the New York fashion scene. He is definitely worth watching with his feminine and still cool style. Richard used to work for Marc Jacobs and Donna Karan but his style is more like 3.1 Phillip Lim. Cool leather with puffed sleeves. Different sleeve length on top of each other. Pleats, gatherings…Pictures from his A/W 2009 collection
My number one fashion magazine, the brittish LULA has got a cousin in italy!! I love LULA for the fantastic pictures – funny styling, the colours and the quality of the magazine. Now I just found another one in Milano –MUSE the fashionart magazine – absolutely fantastic! Great articles – fabulous pictures and the perfect combination of fashion and art. They have nothing to do with eachother but some how in the same genre. Definitely both keepers – just like books! I hope this is also available in Denmark.
Danish Peter Ingwersen presented his CSR based collections NOIR and BLLACK NOIR at Londons Fashion Week. Ethical collections that do not look biological but ones I would love to wear! He descripes his inspiration for the collection very simple : “Asymmetry, slim silhouettes and too little sleep.”
The catwalk showed cropped leather styles, studded black jeans, sleeveless full length god dresses, harems trousers, shimmering tops, heavy visible zips all over, wide waist belts, massive gatherings, beautiful fabrics- all in rock chic colour palette of black, deep inky blue and metallic gold. A collection with attitude, rock ‘n’ roll and power. Hot, sexy, edgy!
Cool, funny and unique interior design and art in the amazing FUMI gallery with a very personal and in my opinion fabulous style!! Among many fantastic objects you can find the beautiful candlelight chandeleers, all in wax so everything can be burned. Pieke Bergman’s cool ‘ light blub’ installation desk – combining retro lamp style with modern bubble shaped lamp. I also loved the humorous chicken made out of pencils. The gallery is located a short walk from Old Street tube station. For sure on my ‘London Art’ hot spot list!
The inspiring atmosphere in KK OUTLET
KK OUTLET is a combination of a communication agency, a gallery and an art/book shop. It is based in the cool Hoxton Square in London’s hip and creative area in the eastern part the city. KK OUTLET is a part of the Amsterdam based KesselKramer commucation agency. A really cool place – extremely inspiring with people working in the middle of the gallery/shop. So many to-die-for books that overweight on the flight will be an actual problem when going back to DK with ryanair and a limit of 15 kilos luggage…anyway it is definitely worth a visit!! Everybody who would like to get a first impression should have a view on their website www.kkoutlet.com
Just came back from Oslo Fashion Fair where we were presenting Eda Mae’s Autumn 09 collection. This is a new fair in Norway held in a factory in the trendy Grünerløkka area. The exhibitors were really cool and counted brands as April77, Rützou, Ann Hagen, Rika, Hope, Vanessa Bruno etc. Super cool brands but unfortunately almost no visitors there.
I am not the only one and I am sure I am not the last one to open up my own blog – but I am very happy having decided to do it. On stylecouch.dk I would like to invite you and to open up the window into my little world. I will keep you updated on my designs, collections and part of my life, but I will also let you have a few views behind the scene of my collection. From time to time I will also request some answers on new collection ideas, so that I can design collections you would really love to wear.
