How long has a tomato to travel?

Posted in Art, Fashion, Graphic design, Photography by stylecouch on October 15, 2009

Before it lays on the shelves in your local supermarket? The British designer James Reynolds tries to give us answer on that. With his project “Far Foods” he would like to highlight the distances the food travel and the resultant carbon dioxide released during their journey. Seeing that your tomatoes just traveled twice the width of the United States to get to your local supermarket is definitely shocking – especially when the tomatoes are than still cheaper than from the local farmer.
