AN IT-GIRL FROM THE FACTORY

Posted in Fashion, Uncategorized by stylecouch on January 4, 2010

Edie Sedgwick who is best know as one of Andy Warhol’s famous muses from the 60s. She was hanging out in ‘the factory’ where she was also attending some of his short movies. Even though the movies never happened to be a commercial success, Edie became ‘the Girl of the Year’ in 1965 and she was definitely one of the most remarkable it-girls in the sixty’s New York. Unfortunately the days of fame were very tough and her drug dependency killed her at the eraly age of 28. However, she will remain an inspiring star and by watching the pictures I guess there is no wonder why – Your hair cannot be blond and short enough, your earrings cannot be big enough, you cannot wear stripes enough, your eyes cannot be smokey enough…She was gorgeous!

Happy New Year! I think Warhol’s factory and the people who’ve been hanging out there are still very fascinating and inspiring. Especially Edie had such a sparkling personality and great sense of style that she’ll always be one of very few true style icons.
