The understanding of a muse is no longer just a silent woman with a beautiful appearance being the favorite motif for painter… The muses have become essential for the designers’ identity. Like Andy Warhol had Edie Sedwick in the 60s most designers are today connected to a stylish or cool person who gives them personality and branding with a real face and not just a model in a picture. Think about Henry Holland vs Agyness Deyn, Sienna Miller vs Mathew Williamson, Sofia Coppola vs Marc Jacobs, Scarlett Johansson vs Stella McCartney etc. It seems that all creators are craving for a huming inspiration source – which indeed is much stronger than a glossy magazine!

There used to be a time where a diary was an essential tool in many people’s life. Nowadays it is replaced with Twitter, facebook or email archives… However, there is still something valuable in hardcopies. With this simple multiple diary you can easily keep track of your mode from the past without getting stressed! And the graphic is cool.
I adore these illustrations by the LA based artist Alisha Amirkhanian . The soft colours, the fine lines and the dreaming atmosphere create a feeling of summer and adventure…
I just stumbled on these really cool items designed by London based Dylan Freeth
Playing cards is an old tradition, but Jim Sutherland from Hat-trick Design now made it possible to do it with style. He designed a full set, i.e 52 cards+ 2 jokers without using any repeated typofaces or alteration typofaces. It must have been quite a challenge but also a cool project of small single designs, however they are fitting each other very well in a group!
