Worldwide graffiti is a hated and loved art style , however for me it gives edge and personality to a city as long as it is not just untalented destroying graffiti. After watching this film I was dreaming about being a real graffiti artist. The movie explores the creative process of London based artist WordToMother and the lead up to his third solo show ‘Lost For Words’ at Stolen Space Gallery. A least I would let this guy spray allover around where I live!!!
I just stumbled on these really cool items designed by London based Dylan Freeth
This must be the optimal pet for travelling people – no matter if you prefer a terrier or a schnauser , UK based Robert Bratford fulfills your wish with these crazy dogs made of recycle toys and other colourful bits and pieces of plastic. The dogs are life-size or even bigger sometimes… The dogs can be seen live in AAF Amsterdam from today and Royal Academy in London from 1st December.
As a part of the celebration for 25 years of London Fashion Week, The Pringle of Scotland brand has made a coorporation with Glasgow based artist David Shigley. The result is this great and humoristic ‘Naked People Tee’. Avaiable in Colette in september. The tee is also supporting up and coming young artists as 20% of the price will be donated to Transmission Gallery in Glasgow www.transmissiongallery.org
The UK based couple Sarah Swash and Toshio Yamanaka are creating the fabulous SWASH scarves with colourful beautiful prints inspired by the urban sorroundings of their East London studio. Oversize scarves in a lovely quality – The huge size makes it even possible to tie them as a top also!
The ultra cool Polish Magazine is available in one of my favorite design web book shops Magma – and for sure also in the original London based shop in Covent Garden. The magazine is designed by the most outstanding design studios in the world. I am giving you a small preview here…Great right?
With a positive strategy in mind, Comme des Garçons is launching a new black collection in my absolute favorite store Dover Street Market! Rei Kawabuko is using key words as accessibility, personality, temporary, iconic, energy, cool, positive and good looking. The collection contains only black items, concentrated on popular CdG styles which will be sold in large volumes in small temporary spaces between 25-40 square metres. Seems as a reaction against the luxury retail expansions of the recent years. The London shop is opening tomorrow!
The London cabaret artist duo Bourgeois & Maurice claims that they met on a self-help workshop – which is only giving their story more edge and craziness! They disliked each other from the first sight – but after being kicked out of the sessions they found each other and agreed on making their own speciel version of a self-help group in the shape of Cabaret performance in London. Bourgeois & Maurice are a musical alt-cabaret duo on a mission to better the lives of all humans in the world…starting with their own! They are playing and an asexual male and female couple. Bistroteque is one of the place to find the amazing couple live – having a dinner there and watching a show must be fantastic. Enjoy the lovely photos!!
