GRAFFITI, PUNK AND COLORFUL ACCESSORIES
I have been quiet and busy for a while but I’ll be back now and this week is going to be really exciting as I am presenting my first collection for the Danish accessories brand becksöndergaard at the Gallery fair during the Danish Fashion Week. The whole concept and identity have been through a remarkable and tremendously exciting journey of development during the last 6 Months and with keywords as ‘Modern Provocateur’, ‘Neo Burlesque’ and ‘Graphic Minimalism’ I am very proud to show the result for the press, the costumers and any others who might be interested. Here comes just a small preview…much more will follow!
How to become a data junkie?
Just follow the American way – Americans consumes 3,6 Zettabytes a day! That is the conclusion of a long-run-study from the University of California, transformed into a wonderful illustration of the American Artist Robert Vargas. And for all of you who don’t know the word Zettabytes – 1 Zettabyte is equal to 1 billion Terabytes and 1 Terabyte is actually 1000 Gigabytes.

AN IT-GIRL FROM THE FACTORY
Edie Sedgwick who is best know as one of Andy Warhol’s famous muses from the 60s. She was hanging out in ‘the factory’ where she was also attending some of his short movies. Even though the movies never happened to be a commercial success, Edie became ‘the Girl of the Year’ in 1965 and she was definitely one of the most remarkable it-girls in the sixty’s New York. Unfortunately the days of fame were very tough and her drug dependency killed her at the eraly age of 28. However, she will remain an inspiring star and by watching the pictures I guess there is no wonder why – Your hair cannot be blond and short enough, your earrings cannot be big enough, you cannot wear stripes enough, your eyes cannot be smokey enough…She was gorgeous!

Still a piece of my heart
I left a piece of my heart in Antwerp already years ago and when I stumbled on these photos it just confirmed me that this city is loaded with fabulous design, inspiration and amazingly good taste – from my point of you! I am now dreaming myself into this wonderful house . The two founders of CSD Architecten,Britt Crepain & Stefan Spaens build this house for themselves in a narrow street in the Center of Antwerp, Belgium. In the designing and construction process, they focused on materials as natural as possible in colors flowing into each other. The inspiration for the color pallet was found on a beach in France (driftwood, pebbles, the color of the sand). Honestly, I felt a slightly jealousy…

A Burberry Burger with Gucci French Fries and than a McSunday by Paul Smith?
The Cool Hunter has enlisted Access Agency to implement the McFancy concept, which TCH describes “an upmarket temporary McDonald’s store that launches at Fashion Weeks around the globe such as London, New York, Paris, Milan, Sydney and Hong Kong.” In the business of fashion, the minute you put a designer label on a piece of cloth, the price goes up. I wonder in the restaurant business how much a Burberry-wrapped piece of meat will cost. For all ofof you loves McDonald food as well as you are may be a logo maniac, the restaurant dining room experience coming during Fashion Week 2010 to a big city near you.

The cards are designed by 5 NYC and London based illustrators who donated their time and talent for this project which is supporting vulnerable children in Africa with clothing, health and hygiene products.
